Students entering this class are between the ages of 3-5 years old. They may have little to no swim experience, or may have previously been in a parent-toddler class. The purpose of this class is to orient pre-school age children to the pool environment and get them comfortable in the water. This class focuses on getting the child use to putting his/her face in the water. Parents will not enter the water.
Prerequisites: Pass PSA This class is our beginner class designed for kids ages 5+ who cannot fully submerge, glide, or swim independently. The focus of this class is independent submersion, as well as swimming, floating, and gliding very short distances with and without support.
Prerequisites: Pass LTS Level 1
Students should feel comfortable in the water, be able to submerge themselves completely, and swim off of the wall independently. The focus of this class is learning the fundamentals of front and back crawl, mastering floating, and streamlined gliding for approximately 10-15 feet.
Prerequisites: Pass LTS Level 2
Students should be able to demonstrate front crawl while breathing to the side and back crawl for a minimum of 15 feet. Swimmers will continue improving front and back crawl while increasing distance. Students will practice swimming in deep water. Diving and treading water are introduced.
Prerequisite: Pass LTS Level 3 Students should be able to swim front and back crawl for at least 1 length of the pool with good technique. Swimmers will begin swimming full lengths of front and back crawl. Breaststroke and butterfly are introduced. Students will also master treading water and diving.
Students should be able to swim a length of all four competitive strokes using correct technique. Swimmers will continue learning advanced techniques for all four competitive strokes while increasing distance and endurance.
This class is for beginner adults who would like to take group swim lessons. This class is designed for adults to feel safe and comfortable in both shallow and deep water. Students will practice entering and exiting the water safely, blowing bubbles through mouth and nose, bobs, supported floating/kicking on front and back, beginning strokes on front and back, and recovering to a standing position from a float.
Do you know a daredevil that is not afraid of the water and loves to jump and tumble? Someone who loves to play on the diving boards at pools? This class will teach them to use those boards properly and introduce them to the sport of diving. They must be able to swim 25 yards without assistance and cannot be afraid of deep water.
This class is for those who like diving and have decided that they want to pursue the sport. Prerequisite for this class is the ability to perform the following dives: Forward Dive, Back Dive, Inward Dive, and Back 1 - Somersault.
Water aerobics is a great class for anyone looking for a new workout that includes moderated cardiovascular work, combined with resistance training to strengthen and tone muscles. Water aerobics puts little stress on joints and can be performed by people of all ages. This class is held in both shallow and deep water.
