For middle school girls joining a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team, this is a great opportunity to learn how to build, program, and drive a robot in a week. Hosted by the girls on Frog Force 503 (Novi High School's robotics team), this workshop is led by girls, for girls. Open to incoming 7th and 8th grade girls.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge (FLLC) students are immersed in real-world science and technology challenges.  Teams design their own solution to a current scientific question or problem and build autonomous LEGO robots that perform a series of missions.  Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.  Teams attend one qualifying competition in Nov/Dec with the opportunity to advance to the state competition in December.  Events may require parent & student travel outside SE Michigan. Additional costs may be incurred depending on grant and sponsorship funding.  Teams are coached by parents and meet 2-3 times a week in member homes.  Max 10 students per team.  FLLC is for Novi Community School District students only.  Robotics Refund Policy:  Refunds must be requested by July 31, 2021.  Requests received after July 31 will not be honored.

FIRST LEGO Explore (FLLE) features a real-world challenge solved by research, critical thinking and imagination. Guided by parent coaches, students work with LEGO pieces to build a model with at least one moving part. Teams create a Show Me poster which illustrates their research and journey. Teams will culminate their season by participating in a FLLE Expo and celebration. Teams will be no larger than 6 children and will be formed by school. Parent coaches are needed to guide teams. Teams meet 1-2 times a week on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. FLLE is for Novi community school district students only. Robotics Refund Policy: Refunds must be requested by July 31, 2021. Requests received after July 31 will not be honored.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is designed for students to compete head to head using a sports model.  Teams design, build, and program their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams.  Robots are built using TETRIX platform and Android based controller.  Teams develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Teams attend two qualifying competitions in Nov/Dec with the opportunity to advance to the state competition in December. Events may require parent & student travel outside SE Michigan. Additional fee’s may be incurred depending on grant and sponsorship funding. Teams are coached by parents and meet 3-4 times a week in member homes.  Max 15 students per team.  FTC is for Novi Community School District Students only.  Robotics Refund Policy:  Refunds must be requested by July 31, 2021.  Requests received after July 31 will not be honored.
